That's not to say that women cannot honor what chivalry espouses, or partake in a personal quest of self-development. Chivalry towards women included honoring one woman before all others, as well as a general graciousness and gentleness towards all women. When women do this, it becomes their own code of behavior, and is not chivalry per se.
